A Day At The Beach With The X-Pro-1

The X-trans sensor sucks at rendering high contrast scene. So I went to the beach to prove myself right. I knew it would sucks; and it did not disappoint in this regard. If you love washed out highlights and non-recoverable shadows, the 1st Gen X-Trans Sensor is for you ! (Fun fact, Ken Rockwell wrote in 2012 that the X-trans sensor was better than ANY DSLR sensor ever made. That the XPRO1 was THE GREATEST THING EVER MADE. No. No, it is not.)

The X-Pro-1 has sixteen million terrible pixels sensor that gives to the user terrible highlights control, waxing skin rendering at high iso, non-recoverable shadows – everything you would ever want and then some more.

But I will tell you what it has : soul. It has a soul. Something that Sony or Pentax doesn’t have. Damn, even my D800E doesn't have one. Fuji has one. The X-Pro-1 will make you go shoot and then shoot some more. This is what it does. All of these photos would never have existed without this little sucker.

So here are photos of a day on a peruvian beach with a 27mm f/2.8, 56mm f/1.2 and X-Pro-1.
