Updates for the Anti-Chimper

Whoa! Last stage! Final product incoming!

Previous post.

I’m in the final step of engineering the anti-chimper. I want it ready for Friday! My third prototype is awesome. The fit is almost perfect. I’m going for perfection!

I will remove the rear 1”x1” square: it increases the cost of production for no reason. Same for the mirror inside the rear panel: cool on paper, less practical in real life. I want to increase the quality of the print (resolution) by 200%, which brings the cost to $17USD with all the complexity of it. By removing the mirror and the rear 1x1 square, we are saving a staggering $7. It brings back the cost of production to $10-ish (before some sort of mass production rebates).

We can make it in carbon fibre for about $70 or wood for about $30.

The three options now are:

1) High-quality plastic ($10-ish)

2) Wood ($25-ish)

3) Carbon fibre ($80-ish)

If it would be only for me, I’d do it in carbon fibre ;)

See some pictures!

Cheers,

JP

ps: the reason the plastic looks “low resolution” is because it was printed in a “draft” setting. The real version will be like glass, smooth surface.

fuji x-pro4 rumours ;)
